London Palestinian Film Festival - images of occupation and resistance

ticketing

Entrance into all films is free, though donations are accepted and encouraged.

Your donations

The film series is organized entirely by volunteers. All donations to the film series will be put first toward expenses. Any remaining funds will be given to the Israeli Committee Against Home Demolitions (ICAHD), a grass-roots organization working to end the occupation. ICAHD is a non-violent, direct-action organization that resists Israel's Occupation through opposing its policy of demolishing Palestinian homes. ICAHD also resists all other oppressive occupation policies "on the ground:" land expropriation, settlement expansion, policies of "closure," the destruction of Palestinian agriculture and infrastructure, construction of the Aparthied Wall and all other attempts to prevent the establishment of a viable Palestinian state. ICAHD works closely with Israeli, Palestinian and international peace and human rights organizations, including Sabeel, and Christian Peacemakers Team.

Financial Support

London's second annual Palestinian film series is pleased to acknowledge generous financial support from the Canadian Palestinian Association and Canadian Friends of Sabeel as well as several local businesses noted in our advertisement section. We would like to offer our special thanks to Mr. Tarek Mustapha, owner of Awtar Restaurant, who in addition to a donation, is offering a specially priced meal for guests of the film series on Saturday evening May 14 during our dinner break.

Sponsoring Groups

Canadian Friends of Sabeel (CFOS) supports the work for justice and peace of Sabeel, an outreach effort of the Palestinian churches in the Holy Land to churches and ecumenical communities around the world. CFOS- London, which was formed in 2001, hosts speakers, fundraises for humanitarian activities, and attempts to raise awareness of the Palestinian issue among Londoners. Our current co-chairs, David Janzen and Catherine McLean may be contacted by email at djanzen1@attglobal.net.

Solidarity for Palestinian Human Rights (SPHR) is a non-profit, student-based organization that advocates on a strong social justice platform to uphold the rights of the Palestinian people in the face of human rights violations and all forms of racism, discrimination, misinformation and misrepresentation. Through awareness raising, advocacy work, non-violent direct actions, solidarity building, and the promotion of Palestinian identity, culture and history, SPHR works to support and protect Palestinian human rights both locally and internationally.

The Canadian Palestinian Association is a network that advocates for Palestinian human rights in Canada.
