Christmas Returns to Nablus
Nablus1 (the Jews2 call it Shechem) has seen a re-invigoration of Christmas celebrations after a few years of trouble. Most interesting is the comment that Christians have left the area.
I do not want to be a spoiler, but Christians should really leave. Sell their property and move to the West. There is a big fight brewing between Al-Islam and the Jewish State. Christians should get out while the getting is good.
In the case of Palestinian Christians, Chile would be their best best. There is a strong Christian Palestinian community there for them.
This is an awful thing to say, I know. But sometimes – and this seems to be one of them – you have to cut your loses and skeedadle.
Selling a house to a Muslim or a Jew would fetch them a good price. Because every inch of land is contested, the prices are amazingly inflated. But if they sell to a Jew, they had better have travelling papers ready to leave immediately once they get the money, because it is the death penalty in the contested areas to sell to Jews.
They could move to Chile and be rich.
A few days old, but I am not back dating it.
1The name Nablus comes from the Crusader times when the Christians named it after Naples. But the Arabs cannot pronounce the letter p and so replace it with a b.
2I have to say the Jews, and not Israelis, because Israeli Arabs would use the Gentile name. Only Jews would use the pre-Diaspora name.
